Domecq Palace history goes to 1773 back when the Marquis of Montana, Mr Cabezas
de Aranda Guzman, requested the town council of Jerez to grant him a planning
permission so that his house could be built in Saint Sebastian Plain, the so-called
Saint Dominic Plain. The Veinticuatro knights - a hederitary family of aldermen
who worked for the municipal town council - gave the permission three years later,
that is, in 1776 and the palace construction started that year.
