The chronicler tells that king Alfonso X "The Wise" granted the site back in 1264 to the Zuritas, Conquerors, Settlers, Councillors and Knights 24 o/Jerez de la Frontera who married into the Benavente Cabeza de Vaca y Carvajal in the XVI century.

Domecq Palace history goes to 1773 back when the Marquis of Montana, Mr Cabezas de Aranda Guzman, requested the town council of Jerez to grant him a planning permission so that his house could be built in Saint Sebastian Plain, the so-called Saint Dominic Plain. The Veinticuatro knights - a hederitary family of aldermen who worked for the municipal town council - gave the permission three years later, that is, in 1776 and the palace construction started that year.
